From experience, couples who are anxious about photography often benefit from an engagement session.
One of the reasons being that there is no wedding day stress. We have time to ease into things to take the fear out of the experience. There's room to explore and relax instead of rushing through a timeline. We also get to know and learn how best to work with each other.
There are benefits for your wedding day as well. During your couples portraits you will be way more relaxed and less reserved with me and each other. You will know what to expect and I'm not a complete stranger asking you to be vulnerable in front of me.
I have also found that it makes this part of the day go smoother and faster. Which is great if you're aiming to minimize time spent on this part of the day.
Engagements aren't just great for nerves though. They can be a great way to preserve the little moments of the life you have built together. Weddings are about the love of each other and your family and friends all coming together. Engagement sessions are focused solely who you guys are in an everyday sense.

For weddings the turnaround time is 8-14 weeks after your date. I like to spend time going over each image with care and make sure they are the best they can be. This takes time, especially during the busy season. For all other sessions the turnaround time is 3-4 weeks from your session date.

Second shooters are great if the timing of your wedding day doesn't have wiggle room for me to be in two places at once. The second shooter can cover one party getting ready while i'm with the other. They can provide extra coverage for the ceremony and larger groupings of guests.

Absolutely! I've had couples not know when booking how many hours of coverage they will need for their wedding day. In that case we book them in at 6 hours and add hours as their day becomes more solidified. Same with on the day of the wedding. If we are running behind at the end of the day I will check in and see if you would like to extend coverage. I understand things can change and will do my best to work with you to find a solution!

Unfortunately coverage time can't be broken up and you wouldn't want that in any case. The majority of weddings follow a similar flow of time and there's rarely (if ever!) down time in-between.

I'm known for being down-to-earth and easygoing. Others say I have a wicked sense of humour. I have to agree. I can also be quite sarcastic. I’ll get down on the ground to cuddle dogs and will take spiderwebs to the face to get the shot. I like plan things meticulously but go with the flow in the moment. I live my life with the belief that it's too short not to explore and experience everything to the fullest. When I'm not working, you can find me hiking, doing farm chores, reading romantasy novels, or taking naps with my dog Charlie who snores.
