some helpful information with a quick rundown

Hey There Friends!

Below you will find some helpful information for your elopement. The tips that follow are broken up into categories and will give you a general rundown on how things will go. Giving you ways to incorporate photography into your day. If you can manage them great!

if not your images will still come out amazing.

I try to keep my hands off as much as possible and let your day unfold as organically as possible. I want to tell your story. Not a staged day. I will only step in when you need assistance or to suggest a space (in terms of lighting).

I will chat with you and your people building connections and making myself less scary with a camera. I will try and match the energy and vibe of everyone. I want everyone to be comfortable as they can with me.

Its important for me that my couples feel safe to be themselves. We're in this together. If you aren't feeling something you have the power to say 'that doesn't resonate with me right now' and we will respect that and shift gears.

How I approach

the day

Its about your love story not my portfolio.

Hot Tip!

Typically, 3 hours of elopement coverage includes travel time, the ceremony, some guest photos, and couples' portraits.

However, you might want some getting ready coverage or even a small champagne celebration post-ceremony instead of spending more time doing couples photos. The choice is entirely yours; think about what's most important to you and what you'd like to remember. We can always adjust the duration of things to focus on other aspects.

Let's discuss your priorities, and I'll assist with timing to ensure we capture everything you desire.

The Ceremony

Ceremonies typically last for 30 minutes.remember to add buffer time for traveling to and from the ceremony location.

During the ceremony, I'll be discreetly capturing your story: the laughter, tears, and exchanging of rings. All of it. I aim to stay as unobtrusive as possible but may need to get closer at times to get the best shots.

After the ceremony, we'll proceed with any 'formal' photos of your guests, family, and friends who attended. These will be quick and straightforward, following the list we prepared in advance.

The cool thing about elopements is that for your portrait part of the day you can go and do anything. Do you want to grab hot dogs at your favorite place? Or visit an old museum? Knowing where the ceremony is to be performed and the vibe you want for your day can change your portrait location so just keep that in mind. We can create magic with any length of time or space. I'm game for it all. If you need help coming up with locations or plans for this part of the day let me know and I will gladly help.

Give me a heads up beforehand so we can make sure we have the necessary permits if needed!

Your Couples Portraits

My main focus is to make this part of your day as easy going and fun as possible.

shooting your

Couples Portraits

on your day

I really like to let you guys take the lead on what you want in terms of couples photos. I will step in to give you guys prompts and gentle guidance during your time only when needed, aiming to keep things chill as possible. I may ask you to repeat certain things just to grab another angle or perspective as well.

I encourage you to be present in your moments together as it adds a beautiful layer to your narrative. Your interactions, like overcoming challenges such as getting up a hill, are precious moments I aim to capture without disrupting their authenticity.

We will come up with a game plan prior to your day on how you see the portraits section of your day happening. On the day we will follow this loosely and let it inform us but not strictly, letting moments happen as they happen.

A few examples of details

Your Elopement Day Details

I love photographing your personal items either on you or being put on. These items are part of your narrative, allowing me to focus more on the role they play in your day. This also frees up time during the getting-ready part of the day (if you are doing this portion), which I use to capture more important moments between you, your family, and your party. Additionally, I will arrive early to capture details of where you are getting married, such as the sky's appearance that day and the wind blowing in the trees—these tangible moments add depth to your memories.

Hot Tip!

Be sure to account for travel time! Whether you're planning to take photos at a specific location or if your ceremony venue is in different cities, make sure to allocate enough time for travel to and, if necessary, back from the locations.

Your Questionnaire

the little things that make up you

You will receive a questionnaire that asks for important information to help me understand your wedding day. Please fill it out to the best of your ability. It covers basics like addresses and key participants, but also delves into aspects that define you as a couple.

These details help me personalize your coverage and tell your story authentically. If you need any assistance with the questionnaire or have questions, feel free to reach out. I'm here to help!
